  1. ROTHMAN TYPE 1 POSTSCRIPT FONT

  3. Rothman is an Art Deco PostScript font containing all alphabetic and numeric 
  4. characters and punctuation.  It is ATM-compatible.  The characters are quite 
  5. condensed; the lower-case characters are simply the upper-case characters 
  6. squished 50% with the same character widths. 
  7. Rothman was named for George Rothman, the conductor of the Columbia 
  8. University Orchestra, and who expressed an interest in the "Empire" font to 
  9. use for his publicity.  Rothman is based on "Empire." 
  10.  
  11. The font software enclosed is © 1991 by David Rakowski, All Rights Reserved.  
  12. It is distributed free of charge.  You may give out copies, providing all 
  13. files within this archive are included, and providing you do not make money.  
  14. Distribution commercially and via user groups is specifically allowed.

  16. Converted for ATM/PC from the original Mac files and uploaded by permission 
  17. of the author.

  19. A check made out to Columbia University and sent to Cynthia Lemiesz, 
  20. 703 Dodge Hall, Columbia University, New York, NY 10027 where the payments 
  21. are treated as tax-deductible donations to help the sadly underfunded 
  22. Columbia Composers put on their concerts, would be very nice.

  24. Put these files in your font directory (eg.c:\fonts), point ATM at it, 
  25. select the font and tell it to ADD. Don't forget to do the "printer setup 
  26. shuffle" in WinWord to get it added to the list!

  28. Some flavors of PS printers or cartidges seem to have trouble with some 
  29. fonts made with Fonto 3.1 (if you have any try replacing the copyright 
  30. symbols (A9) with spaces (20) in the plain ASCII section at the head of 
  31. PFB.) These latest uploads were made with 3.2 and shouldn't present the 
  32. problem.

  34. Either flavor fonts work perfectly with ATM in PCL mode.
